Ulsan Munsu Football Stadium

Ulsan Munsu Football Stadium

Matches

1/06: Uruguay v Denmark
3/06: Brazil v Turkey
21/06: Quarterfinal

The design of the Ulsan Munsu Football Stadium is supposed to represent a crane in a crouching position, about to take off - although this image is difficult to see.

Despite being located in a city dominated by industry, the stadium is one of the most picturesque in the tournament due largely to its proximity to natural ponds and forests on nearby Mt Munsu and Mt Namam.

It also has the advantage of being located in South Korea's most football-mad city.

Ulsan is also the home of the giant Korean manufacturing company Hyundai and the city also boasts a petro-chemical plant.

Stadium designers have paid homage to the city's industrial heartbeat with a structure in front of the stadium which depicts Ulsan as the cradle of South Korean industry.
