In the heart of the beautiful Tamar Valley, Launceston is Tasmania's second biggest city and will host the World Cup match between Namibia and Romania on October 30.
Although it's not a traditional rugby heartland - Australian rules football is the passion in Australia's most southerly state - the players and fans of both teams are sure to receive a warm welcome.
As Australia's third-oldest city, Launceston is steeped in history and featuring a host of 19th century buildings.
But wining and dining is the city's forte. The Tamar Valley is full of wineries and there are plenty of restaurants in Launceston which serve food worthy of the region's wines.
For those who would rather a taste of the island state's wilderness, the Cataract Gorge provides walking tracks through some beautiful scenery, including the Alexandra Suspension Bridge.
