Phil
Marsten is a member of the Cross County Pony Club, the rival pony club to
Pine Hollow's own Horse Wise. Phil and Stevie are intensely
competitive and they constantly try to outdo each other in the ring or on the
trails.
It is obvious to everyone else that they are attracted to each other but they
spend so much time arguing they fail to see it themselves.
Stevie pretends not to care about Phil but she gets very jealous if any other
girl shows interest. And Phil can't work out what Stevie wants. It is a tumultuous
friendship and a budding romance, but not without its hassles.

Glenn Meldrum plays Phil Marsten
There's no business like show business for Glenn. At 8 years of
age he stared in Genie From Down Under on TV followed by Les Miserables and The
Sound of Music. Then before he knew it, he was experiencing his first screen kiss
on The Saddle Club.
Off screen, studies are a big priority for Glenn with his VCE
exams looming. His favourite subjects are Media, Drama, Photography and IT. Next
to acting, a career in photography is in Glenn's sights.
Glenn on Phil in Series 2: "He's an interesting character. He seems shy
around Stevie but he's not shy around other girls and I guess that's because he
really likes her. He is normally an outgoing guy and he doesn't have too many
hassles, except he is terribly competitive."
Glenn on Phil in Series 1: "I think I like Phil, because he's kind of
like me. He's a normal boy and he likes the girls. It's good to play him because
he's similar to me so I know what he's thinking."
