My son Walker, the boy in the moon
Ian Brown's son was born with a rare genetic mutation called Cardio-facio-cutaneous syndrome or CFC. There are thought to be no more than 150 cases worldwide.
Caring for a child with special needs requires immense energy and devotion. But what if that child's life seems so compromised that you grapple with not only their pain, but your own ability to place them in the world?
Ian has told Walker's story in The Boy in the Moon, which recently won the 2010 Charles Taylor Prize for non-fiction.
