Tales of the Territory

They say everyone has a story, and Tales of the Territory is all about uncovering as many of those stories as possible.
It's about finding the tales of individuals that may not have been heard before, the stories that make someone famous or infamous in their community, but which never reach a wider audience.
They are the stories that make you laugh or cry when you remember them, the stories that remind you about what makes each community and town in the Territory unique.
Fiona Churchman and Emma Haskin are traversing the Territory over the next 12 months finding and collecting these stories, and will make them available on this website, as well as on air on 105.7 ABC Darwin and 783 Alice Springs, and across the Territory.
It can be hard to coax people to tell their stories, but once they do, they are wonderful to listen to.
If you know someone with a story you think should be told let us know. Send an email to ABC Darwin or ABC Central.
Keep checking in on this site to discover more Tales of the Territory.
