Aussies blow out cobwebs against AIS

Posted August 28, 2008 17:46:00

Australia has won its one-day match against the Australian Institute of Sport (AIS) in Darwin thanks to some devastating bowling by Mitchell Johnson and the steady batting hand of Michael Hussey.

In a tight and dour affair Australia was bowled out for 177 in 48 overs with Hussey the only batsman to make a real impact with a solid 69 off 95 balls.

In response, the AIS' innings began slowly and carefully until Mitchell Johnson began a stunning spell which included three quick wickets.

From there Australia was in control and eventually bowled the AIS out for 119 in 34 overs.

Johnson finished with figures of 3 for 5 of five overs. Michael Hill was the best of the batsman for the AIS, scoring 35.
