From Lock 1 to the Coorong: journey the River Murray

Increased flows from up north. Building a weir and blocking the Murray at Wellington. The Coorong is 'doomed'. Debate rages across four states about how the water in the River Murray can be best utilised, and of what can be done to save the river system as it reaches its mouth in South Australia.

ABC Riverland cross media reporter Tom Coull took his camera and drove from Blanchetown to the Coorong along the lower lengths of the river to see what the state of the mighty Murray was in late August, 2008.
