Medvedev knocks back Ukraine famine service invite

But Russian President Dmitry Medvedev has turned down his invitation. The Russian leader and others in his country believes the Ukrainian Government is revising the events of late 1932 and 1933 for its own political gains, and in the process is driving a wedge between the two nations. |

Aust still playing a role in Soloman's road to peace
Australia's long and expensive commitment to bring order to the Solomon Islands is now in its fifth year. There's now a large contingent of Australian Defence Force Reserves based in the country, offering protection to unarmed police and public service advisors who are all part of RAMSI, the Regional Assistance Mission to the Solomon Islands. The ABC's Jeff Waters was in the capital Honiara recently as part of a tour with the Australian military. |
