Symphonic Poems 1
The first of a two part series in which Graham looks at the symphonic poem. Starting with the Romantic concert overture which preceded Liszt's coining of the term "symphonic poem", he surveys the symphonic poems of Liszt as well as Czech and Russian examples of the form.

In Part Two of the Keys To Music survey of Haydn's symphonies, Graham looks at ten more (nos 3, 14, 15, 17, 19, 20, 25, 33, 36 and "108"). These are thought to have been written in the early 1760s, around the time Haydn left the court of Count Morzin and started working for the Esterházy family. > more

Graham concludes his survey of the three Stravinsky/Diaghilev ballets of 1910-1913 with a discussion of the work which almost single-handedly shaped music in the 20th century: The Rite of Spring. The recording used will feature the Kirov Orchestra conducted by Valery Gergiev. > more

In May 2009, Keys To Music presented four programs focusing on the importance of good musical experiences in a child's education. Graham's guest in the series was the eminent Australian conductor and music educator Richard Gill and their conversations generated an enormous response among ABC Classic FM listeners.

Graham and Richard conclude their discussion on the importance of Music Education for children. In this program they focus on the proven benefits of musical experiences for a child's intellectual and social development.
